Terms Of Service
What you can expect from Do One Thing, and what we expect from you.
Last updated: 31 July 2026
These are the terms for using Do One Thing ("D1T", "the service", "we", "us") — the app, the website, and everything they sync between. By creating an account or using the service you're agreeing to them. They're written in plain English on purpose; there's no fine print hiding anything the headings don't say.
Who we are
Do One Thing is operated by its owner, based in the United Kingdom. Questions about these terms: [email protected]. How we handle your information is covered separately in our Privacy Policy.
The service
Do One Thing helps you focus on one thing at a time: an active task, Soon and Someday lists, notes, events, quick-capture drops, a journal, and reminders ("nudges") across iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac and the web. It's a productivity tool — it is not medical advice, therapy, or a substitute for professional support, even where the app asks about how your brain works so it can shape itself around you.
Your account
- You need to be at least 13 to use Do One Thing.
- Keep your sign-in method secure — your account is personal to you, and anything done through it is treated as done by you.
- Give us accurate details, and keep your email reachable: it's how password resets and important notices find you.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app or your profile on the web. Deletion is immediate and permanent — we can't restore your content afterwards.
Subscriptions and billing
- Do One Thing offers auto-renewing monthly subscriptions (Basic and Pro). Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
- All payment is handled by Apple through your App Store account. We never see your payment details. Your subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled.
- Cancel any time in your App Store subscription settings; your plan stays active until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel an Apple subscription — that must be done in the App Store.
- Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's terms — request them through Apple. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a UK or EU consumer.
- If we change a subscription price, Apple will tell you in advance and, where required, ask you to agree before you're charged the new amount.
- "Restore purchases" in the app reconnects an existing subscription on a new device or reinstall.
Your content
- Everything you put into Do One Thing — tasks, notes, events, journal entries, images — is yours. We claim no ownership of it.
- You give us only the licence we need to run the service: to store your content, process it, and show it back to you on your devices. We don't use your content for anything else — no training, no marketing, no sharing.
- You're responsible for what you upload. Don't store content that's illegal, that infringes someone else's rights, or that you don't have permission to hold.
Fair use
Don't misuse the service: no attempting to break into accounts or systems, no probing, scraping or overloading the service, no reselling it, and no using it to send spam or harm others. We can suspend or close accounts that do — where reasonable we'll warn you first, but for serious abuse we may act immediately.
Availability and changes
We run Do One Thing with reasonable skill and care, and we work to keep it fast and available — but like any online service we can't promise it will never be down, interrupted or bug-free. We add, change and occasionally remove features as the product evolves; if we ever discontinue the service or remove something significant you've paid for, we'll give you reasonable notice so you can get your content out.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under UK law — and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Beyond that, we're responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms, and not for indirect losses such as lost profits or business (Do One Thing is a personal productivity tool, not business-critical infrastructure). Your reminders depend on things partly outside our control — your device settings, Apple's notification service, your connectivity — so please don't rely on a nudge as your only safeguard for something truly critical.
Ending things
You can stop using Do One Thing and delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law prevents it. If we close your account without cause while you have time left on a subscription, seek a pro-rata refund through Apple and we'll support the request.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes we'll update the date above and tell you in the app before they take effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms. If you don't, you can stop using the service and cancel any subscription with Apple.
Legal bits
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes belong to the courts of England and Wales — though if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and consumers in the EU keep any protections their local law grants. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
